Andrew Gage, Staff Counsel

Andrew Gage has worked as a staff lawyer at West Coast Environmental Law since 2001, addressing a wide range of environmental law issues from sustainable forestry to farmworker exposure to pesticides. He has led workshops on Forest Land Use Planning in First Nations Communities, represented the environmental sector in national consultations on air quality and published cutting-edge papers on the public’s right to a clean environment. He currently oversees the Environmental Dispute Resolution Fund – an innovative funding program that allows the public to hire lawyers to help resolve environmental conflicts.

Before joining West Coast, Andrew practiced on his own for two years, specializing in environmental and administrative law. His commitment to environmental issues has led him to volunteer with various non-profit environmental organizations, including co-founding the University of Victoria Environmental Law Centre.
