West Coast Environmental Law has been working with multicultural
community partners to develop resources and provide environmental
information to our communities. Our newest resources include:
- Multi-language Air Quality brochures. Developed with our
community partners, this brochure provides information about air
quality, what individuals can do to protect it, and a resource
list for additional information. The brochure is available in Chinese,
Punjabi, Korean,
Vietnamese, Arabic,
Farsi and Spanish
(PDF - 2-3 Mb).
You can also read it in English. Each brochure is also available
in a one-page, easily downloadable version (Chinese,
Punjabi, Korean,
Vietnamese, Arabic, Farsi,
English, and Spanish
PDF - 1-2 Mb);
- Chinese Climate Change brochure. First published as an insert
in both Ming Pao Daily News and Sing Tao Daily, reaching a
readership estimated over 200,000, this brochure provides
information about the science and impacts of climate change,
cleaner energy alternatives, and what individuals can do to take
action and reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and
- Chinese Newsletter, summer 2003. Topics include the need for
environmental laws, an introduction to "smart growth"
principles, and environmental concerns about food production.
West Coast is pleased to have worked with multicultural community
partners, including: United Chinese Community Enrichment Services
Society (SUCCESS), Multilingual Orientation Services Association for
Immigrant Communities (MOSAIC), Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISS),
BC Settlement & Integration Workers' Association (BCSIWA),
Vancouver Multicultural Society (VMS) and Progressive Intercultural
Services Society (PICS).
