Lehigh Cement has proposed developing a quarry in the Davie Bay area on Texada Island. The development would include the construction of a barge loading facility that may harm sensitive marine and foreshore habitats. Friends of Davie Bay received an EDRF grant to determine legal options to prevent the construction of the barge terminal. Their goal is to prevent the destruction of sensitive marine and foreshore habitats in Davie Bay.
