On-line mineral claim staking has led to uncontrolled exploration in Takla Territory. The exploration has caused habitat fragmentation and has disturbed wildlife. The funds will go towards developing a legal opinion that examines the premise that the British Columbia on-line mineral staking regime is unconstitutional because is authorizes infringement of aboriginal rights and title with no consultation or accommodation. The eventual goal of this initiative is to eliminate on-line mineral staking and to invalidate any past on-line staking in Takla Territory.
