Smart Bylaws Guide – Compact Complete Communities – Density Bonus – Salmon Arm

The City’s Medium Density Residential zone (Section 9, p.41) allows an increase in the maximum density from 40 dwelling units per hectare (16 dwelling units per acre) to 50 dwelling units per hectare (20 units per acre) if an amenity in the accompanying table is provided.  The listed amenities (with allowable bonus density indicated) include accessible units, underground parking for at least 50% of the required off-street parking, commercial child care, affordable rental housing and rental housing with a housing agreement.
