Smart Bylaws Guide – Mixing Uses – Nelson

Nelson’s zoning in the Core Commercial Zone and Mixed Commercial and Residential Zone allows for a variety of uses.  In the Core, uses include residential above commercial and stand alone apartments.  Site coverage can be up to 90% of the site, lot areas only 232 square metres (2500 square feet), and dwelling sizes starting at 35 square metres (375 square feet).  The Mixed Commercial and Residential Zone is intended for mixed-use development outside the downtown, and provides detailed guidelines for this zone.
