West Coast is very pleased to welcome Deborah Carlson, who joins our team as Staff Counsel. Called to the bar in 1996, Deborah practiced litigation at Miller Thomson for over five years including work on behalf of survivors of Indian residential schools. She then spent three years in Geneva as a legal officer assisting Holocaust survivors achieve redress following a major class action lawsuit in the U.S. Since 2006, Deborah has been a Climate Change Campaigner for the David Suzuki Foundation. Her activities at DSF included working with Canadian municipalities in the lead-up to the Copenhagen climate negotiations, and developing strategies for businesses and decision-makers (including the Vancouver Olympic organizers) to manage and reduce the climate impacts of their organizations.
