Carol Coffey

Access to Justice Program Manager

Carol (she/her/hers) is the Access to Justice Program Manager with West Coast Environmental Law, based on the unceded territory of the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation). Carol started her non-profit career working in animal welfare. She worked with the Whistler Community Foundation for seven years, operating grant programs in the Sea to Sky area and conducting community engagement work.

Prior to joining West Coast, Carol worked in the social services sector, primarily in the role of finance, fund development and program development, at Squamish Helping Hands Society, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use, trauma and mental health challenges.

She holds a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph. She has always been interested in environmental law and policy and uses the UN Sustainable Development goals as a guide. With her grassroots work in communities, Carol is passionate about supporting local community groups to affect change for the betterment of the environment and to build equity.

Carol lives in Squamish with her husband and beloved cat. She enjoys paddling and hiking in the coastal mountains.
