Faria Bhuiyan (she/her/hers) is the Development Officer at West Coast Environmental Law. She holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia. As a digital marketing professional, Faria brings donors and environmental advocates together while empowering local communities to harness the power of law.
She believes her generation is the first to live through the detrimental effects of complex environmental issues. Before taking on her role at WCEL, Faria worked with the United Nations Refugee Agency for many years, where she noticed the direct impact that environmental harm and climate change can have on uprooting lives by forcing millions to flee their homes. Through her work at WCEL, she hopes to spread awareness of the rate of environmental damage increasing along the West Coast and around the world from a humanitarian standpoint.
