Whitney Lafreniere Vicente

Whitney Vicente (she/her/hers) is an Anishinaabe woman from Treaty #4 territory Pine Creek Manitoba. Whitney is very passionate about Indigenous law and Indigenous issues, specifically regarding social welfare and the intersection of Indigenous law and environmental law. Whitney is proud to be a part of an organization that emphasizes Indigenous knowledge and Laws.

Whitney received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2015 and her Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Victoria in 2020. Before joining West Coast Environmental Law (WCEL) as a staff lawyer, Whitney spent the summer as a law student with WCEL and articled with West Coast LEAF, working in social justice law focusing on the rights of Indigenous parents and children.

When not working, Whitney enjoys reading, camping, baking and spending time with friends, family, and her miniature labradoodle George.
